About this blog

This blog is about my current model railroad layout project; The N scale "Summit" layout, which is a freelanced interpretation of the Southern Pacific Tehachapi tunnels and their surroundings. Or at least, that is what it is meant to be. What it will turn out to be is another matter. The banner photo above shows what I want to recreate in N scale.

Waiting for cork

I thought I had enough cork, without actually checking, but ran out of it the other day. It turned out my local hobby shop did not have any in stock, but what was worse - they did not know when they would get any. This because their longtime supplier had sold his machinery and gone out of business.

Fortunatly I managed to locate another Swedish shop that could send me N scale cork. That was the day before yesterday, and today the parcel had arrived! So on my way home from work I was eager to pick it up, get home and get on with the sub-roadbed. But ooops! Someone had done a mistake - the box was full of H0 cork!

A quick phone call and the guy who answered immediatelly volountered to send me the correct type of cork tomorrow. Fair enough, but I must admit I was disappointed. I had looked forward to laying that cork. Now I'll have the cork on Monday - so I have to busy myself with something else during the weekend.
